Project santa maria green
Project “Santa Maria Verde” was created specially for IBM´s office tower in Monterrey. The Project emerged from the building’s main concept that is reusable energy, green areas and taking care of the environment. In response to this, Sonia’s idea was to bring the exterior green areas to the interior of the building through brushstrokes full of color and harmony, with colors and shapes that suggest themes like reusable energy, water consumption, protecting the environment, endangered animal species, the earth’s basic main elements, and more. Each of these themes is distributed in each floor of the building, having different canvas size and colors from one floor to the next. This enables users a spatial orientation in the building, so when doors from the elevator are open they know the floor they are at because of the work of art they are seeing in front of them. The main lobby’s paintings are related with the new architecture in the city and the artist’s future urban vision of Monterrey, where huge green areas will be developed
